These are one-on-one sessions for you to discuss any issues you have in regard to commencing a business or improving performance and operations of your existing business.

General business advice and referrals can be obtained at these sessions which can be free or low-cost.

Small businesses can access a range of advisory and mentoring services, such as but not limited to:

The New Enterprise Incentive Scheme (NEIS)

The New Enterprise Incentive Scheme (NEIS) is a self-employment program which trains, funds and mentors eligible job seekers to establish and run their own businesses. The program includes:

  • Training in small business management, business skills and business plan development.
  • Income maintenance (NEIS Allowance) replacing Newstart Allowance for up to 52 weeks
  • Business advice and mentor support during the first year of business operation

Business Incubators

A small business incubator is a facility providing premises, advice, services and support to new and growing businesses to assist them to become established and profitable.

Small business incubator tenants are provided with an initial place of operation and a supportive environment in which to grow their business. Tenants share the incubator’s premises and a range of support services from which they graduate and relocate to commercial accommodation when they are commercially viable.

The incubation period (tenancy) for a small business in an incubator is normally from one to three years.

There are many benefits to being located at an Incubator. They include:

  • Economical monthly licence fees
  • Tenancy is on a month by month basis; only one month’s notice to vacate
  • 24 hour 7 day a week access and off street parking
  • Professional reception services
  • Access to communication facilities, kitchen and meeting and conference rooms
  • The opportunity to participate in a range of learning and networking events
